Who Gives a Crap? We do, and we think you will too after you read this!

Hi everyone! The first few weeks of having the Sustainimals.com website up and running have been pretty crazy! While we continue to ramp things up, we wanted to share with you our first of many posts where share sustainability tips.

There are so many products we use every day that we don’t even realize we are using, because they are so ingrained in our daily routines. One of those items is…. toilet paper. According to Wikipedia, more than 7 BILLION rolls of toilet paper are sold every year in the United States alone; Americans use an average of 141 rolls per capita per year. Sadly, almost all toilet paper is made from trees that were cut down expressly for the purpose of being turned into toilet paper, in a “tree-to-toilet” pipeline. In the United States, most of these trees come from the boreal forest of Canada, at the rate of more than a million acres of forest every year. If that’s not depressing enough, toilet paper is often wrapped in plastic.

That’s why over at Sustainimals HQ (Julia’s house), we have switched to Who Gives a Crap toilet paper made from 100% recycled paper, specifically from recycled books and office paper. That’s pretty fun, huh? You can literally wipe your @$$ with a pointless presentation that someone printed off and distributed, even though the slides were emailed out! 50% of profits are donated to help build toilets for those in need. In addition to toilet paper, Who Gives a Crap sells paper towels and tissues, and all products are plastic free.

Sustainimals, LLC not affiliated with Who Gives a Crap in any way, shape or form! We just really like and support their products and hope you will too. Stay tuned! We will be back to endorse more products without getting paid to do it!
